NAVIGATOR GOD

Ps 91:7 – states “A thousand may fall at your side and 10 thousand at your right hand – But it shall not come near you.” God not only protects us but navigates us to a place of safety in an awesome way.

A few days ago I was in Bend and had a lovely time with Dr Chris Freess and his lovely wife Madelle. The temperature was minus 7 and minus 10 and it had snowed the previous night over a foot deep – I had never seen snow covered everywhere and it was like “Iris in Wonderland”.

The following day in the morning Medelle had to go at 5:40 AM to fix her car tires and Dr. Chris had surgery in the morning so he left home at 7 AM. Like my mother, I like to wave good bye till the car disappeared out of sight. So went out in that cold with just a Indian shawl around me and started to wave to Dr. Chris and he waved back with a smile and when the car disappeared out of my sight, I turned to go inside the house and to my horror I found out that the door automatically gets locked. I realized that I was locked out in that freezing cold of minus 7 degree. I was terrified and prayed to God to send an angel to help me. Then I started to wave and cry at the top of my voice “Help” “Help”, 15 min passed by and my hands were freezing and I started to move on the portico and I realized that no one will be able to hear me. God prompted me to walk to the road. I was wearing a slipper and socks and as I walked on the snow, the socks were becoming damp. I had to go very very slowly as the snow was slippery and my feet started to freeze – I was happy to see a car that was there ready to leave. God prompted me to walk to the car. I slowly walked to the car and there was no one inside the car and I thought of warming my hands by touching the car, but to my horror I found that it was icy cold due to the snow that had settled the previous night on the car. I stared to shout frantically for help. After 5 minutes or so the door opened slightly and hearing my cry a young lady walked out and came down the walk way and helped me up to her house walking on the ice which was very slippery. She was extremely kind and I know God had sent an angel in the form of this lady to help me out. It was nearly 2 hours by the time Madelle got back home — God truly navigated me from death to life in that freezing cold with no warm clothes on — All Praise to Him.

Our God can navigate you too to your safe place in whatever situation you may be placed in. Call on Him today, He is always by your side.

INTIMATE GOD.

Ps 91: 14 to 16 states ” Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him: I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall  call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”

This is a promise with a condition – Because I have set my love upon Him — He will — . I love my God as He is the Only one who has stood with me in this jungle area for the last 38 years — He is the only one my heart is filled with. He is very intimate. He is intimate to all who love Him — each of us have to pass through — Hard ways — Suffering — Lots of tears — But the Peace that He gives and the miracles He performs almost on a daily basis  will take volumes and volumes if I had to write them down –

I love to kneel and pray – you know why? Because I always from my childhood days imagined that as I knelt I had my hands folded and rested my head on the lap of Jesus — He is very intimate to me – I keep taking to Him all the time and I hear His voice –

It is said that to all the prayers we send to Him – there is never a “No” answer from Him — It is always: “Yes” or “not now, please wait” or “I have a better plan for you” Wow!! What an intimate God we have.

I love life — long life to me means not the number of years that I complete on this earth but the number of days He keeps me going under hard and difficult circumstances.

I am sure this is how each one of you are feeling as you read this. So let us make use of each and every opportunity we get to share the Gospel with someone every day — Let us keep talking to Him all the time so that we can use enervative ideas from Him to present the Love of Jesus to all with whom we come in contact with today.

Zoom Lens God

A zoom lens helps us to see very clearly – I always think of our Amazing God to be always looking through a Zoom Lens, for He knows every minute part of me and is always there to guide and lead me.

Have we ever sat and meditated on the verse in Matt, 10: 30 which states – “our hairs are all numbered” – Just imagine in a over million population, for each and every single person/child, our Amazing God knows the number of hairs in each of our head!! Whooooph!! He is truly a Zoom Lens God.

In the incidence at Babel Tower we see God’s eyes seeing the intent of man in building of a Tower reaching up to the heavens and he uses the ill intent of man to create the numerous languages that we have today. Our Zoom Lens God foresees and brings a blessing out of what could have been a chaos.

Our Zoom Lens God made the servant of Elisha to see a Spiritual vision – hills full of horses and chariots – 2 Kings 6:17.

Our Zoom Lens God made Moses to have a Telescopic Faith as recorded in Heb 11:27 – “By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger: he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.”

ACCOMPLISHING GOD

The next in the series of our thoughts is “Accomplishing God”. Is 55:11 states – “My Word be that goeth forth from My mouth. It shall accomplish what I please. And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” God’s word also states that ‘My Word will not return unto me Void”. The literacy work that has been going on in different villages for the last 2 decades has started to accomplish great things. It has equipped hundreds of totally illiterate tribal people to come to a social status and be in par with the rest in the nearby educated community. It has also made children to join the regular government or mission schools. Above all it has accomplished in bringing people to Jesus

MIGHTY GOD

The next in the series of “An Amazing God is “Mighty God”. There are innumerable accepts to this title of our Amazing God. One of the most important characters of God is His ability to put down all evil powers and satanic influences and His power to protect all those who put their trust in Him. Ps 91:3a – “Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler”.

Living in the midst of evil spirits and spirit worship, it is the power of Jesus who protects us that we keep going. The evil spirit immediately recognizes Jesus children, for when we walk to where spirit worship is taking place or when a Thisari the witchcraft worker is trying to cure a patient – within a few minutes the Thisari will point to us who are believers in Jesus Christ to go away. That is the power of our God. No evil spirit can work or touch us if our heart is fully given to God and no evil work can take place when we are in that area of evil spirit works. Oh what an awesome and amazing God we have.
I do not know why but my mother when we were in our teenage, when we had our daily evening prayers have often told us that satan cannot touch us and that no evil spirit can ever enter us. I used to think why she is telling us her children this as I did not encounter any evil spirit activity in my school or college as both were very Christian in their administration and I always moved with the Evangelical Union Group where people were all the time involved in Christen activities. Once I came to Malkangiri – I realized the immensity of her statement and I had the courage from God to enter everywhere in Malkangiri where evil spirits abound. Oh, what a Mighty God we enjoy that no evil spirit can ever enter us if our heart is totally given to Him. All Praise be to this our Might God.

AWESOME GOD

Next in the series is “Awesome God “. We need no descriptions or explanation for this attribute for our God. I just thought that I will share some true incidents in our life here at Malkangiri. Ps 91 – every verse has an incident to go with. This time we will take verse 11 and 12. V 11 – For He shall give His angels charge over you in your ways. V 12 – In their hands they shall bear you up lest you dash your foot against a stone.

A couple of days ago I asked the school children during their morning devotion time whether they believed in “Angels” and whether even today, the angels can help us. I was taken aback when immediately they all replied “No”. So I related to them the following incident. Some years ago we were travelling in a broken jeep, whose 4 wheels were still turning, we were going from Malkangiri to Jeypore which is 110 Km away and used to take in the jungle path around 4 hours. Just when the jeep was about 29 Km from Jeypore the entire front part of the jeep on the left side broke and fell on the road with a big bang. I and driver Israel got down and Israel went down to see what has happened to let the piece fall off and he said there are 3 holes and all the 3 long nail and nuts which were holding the part has fallen off. It was dusk and the nearest village was about 4 Km away and to get a rope one of us had to walk to that village to get a rope – to get a nail and nut to fix this is impossibility. As I was looking down at Israel, a voice came from my back – “What happened? “ I thought – how foolish of someone to ask such a question when he can see for himself the entire left side part of the jeep fallen on the ground – So I did not answer the question and I did not turn back to see who it was who asked the question. Then a hand came over my right shoulder and the hand held a long nail with nuts and the voice said – “there will be 3 holes fix the part and put this nail in the middle hole and you will reach Jeypore safely”. Still without turning back I took the nail and gave to Israel who was still below the jeep and told him with excitement – “fix the part and in the middle hole put this nail and we will be able to reach Jeypore”. Within a few minutes Israel said that the hole has no threads and so the nail and nuts cannot be tightened well – Then I looked for the man who gave us some hope and the long nail – we looked all over in the jungle area and called for him – But no one appeared. Then Israel who was a new believer said – “Amma, this is given by an angel and we will surely reach Jeypore safely though the nail is not a perfect fit”. PTL we did reach Jeypore safely and fixed the jeep and returned to Malkangiri after 2 days safely. There are few more incidences which happened to us – encounters with angels. What an awesome God we have who sends even today Angels to minister to us. Yes, even today “Angels” are as real as in the Bible days. And even today God sends angels to take care of us and help us when in dire need. What an awesome privilege we enjoy as His children and what an Awesome God we have. As you read this please take the time to share your experiences when angels have ministered to you.

NOSTALGIC GOD

This is the second letter to be considered in the Title – “An Amazing God” –The word Nostalgia is used when one really likes some thing very much – some thing one dreams off and imagines and also loves to be part of.

My Jesus’ only Nostalgia was to do what His father wanted Him to do. Even as a young boy of 12 years, He stayed back in the temple expounding the Word of God to then religious leaders, after the Passover festival instead of returning with His parents. Lk: 2: 41 – 49. Jesus earthly parents found Jesus after 3 days in the temple and reprimanded Him as to why He stayed back and caused all the anxieties to them – Jesus quick answer was – “Why did you search for me? You should have known that I am doing my Father’s work. “Every day of Jesus life was a burning passion to bring the news of salvation to all whom He met for He was a Nostalgic God. His was a Nostalgic life – we as His children do we keep seeking for the lost souls all the time?
